Train Sets
This is how it all begins. You may see a model train display online, at a mall, or at a friend's home. Perhaps you receive a train set as a gift. Then you start adding branchline tracks, then a few buildings. Think about a purpose for your layout. It might be to service the lumber or coal industry or a passenger service. What era? Maybe 1890, or 1955. Where? Perhaps Appalachia or the Rockies. Now you need some kind of a table or benchwork where you can permanently keep your layout. Add some ground cover, mountains, rivers, bridges. You are on your way!
