Product description

Eisco Scientific started over 50 years ago as a small, family-owned manufacturing company serving the science education marketplace. Since then we have grown into a multinational corporation with headquarters located in both India and the United States that serve hundreds of distributors in over 100 countries throughout the world. Our mission is simple; to be TRUSTED by educators, researchers, and scientists throughout the world to design, manufacture, and DELIVER products that allow LEARNING and the development of scientific knowledge.

This hands on learning kit is perfect for introducing students to the basics of electricity. Engaging for students, which allows them to explore and understand which configurations result in a successful or unsuccessful current path- all while having fun building their kits! Each kit includes necessary components for building basic, parallel, and series circuits.

Required but not included: Wire Cutter & Stripper, and Multimeter or Voltmeter & Ammeter (used for measuring current behaviors)

A simple and classic exploration in how to make a light bulb illuminate. The rule that students should be able to determine is that there must be a path that goes from the negative side of the battery to the positive side of the battery, and that there should only be one path through the filament of the light bulb. Additional experiments examine the relationships between the circuits & bulbs, the rules in which currents behave within a variety of circuit configurations, & what leads to short circuiting. Experiment Guide includes instructions for setting up your circuits safely, activity steps, discussion topics and follow up questions for students.

Q: Can it be used to demonstrate short circuits?

A: Yes, it is designed to demonstrate current flow, filament behavior, and short circuit outcomes in a controlled environment.

Q: Does kit include tools for wire stripping?

A: No, the required tools are not included.

Q: Are instructions included for circuit building?

A: Yes, instructions are included.

  • HANDS ON LEARNING: This hands on learning kit introduces students to the basics of electricity. This engaging exercise allows them to explore and understand which configurations result in a successful or unsuccessful current path while having fun building their kits
  • EXPLORE A VARIETY OF CIRCUIT CONFIGURATIONS: Learners will be able to build a variety of circuit configurations, including basic, series and parallel circuits. The end goal is to successfully create a current path that lights up the miniature light bulb
  • 13 PIECE KIT: Kit is comprised of 13 components including two D-cell batteries, 120 inches of insulated wire, knife switch, two bulb holders, two battery holders and five miniature light bulbs. Required but not included: Wire Cutter and Stripper, and Multimeter or Voltmeter and Ammeter used for measuring current behaviors
  • EXPERIMENT GUIDE: The included experiment guide includes instructions for setting up your circuits safely, steps for each experiment, discussion topics and activity questions
  • EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY: Suitable for physics classrooms as well as for remote learning. An educational and exciting activity for budding engineers
  • LEARN CIRCUIT FUNDAMENTALS: Students explore how to make a light bulb illuminate by creating a complete path from the negative side of the battery to the positive side, with only one path through the filament of the light bulb
  • COMPREHENSIVE EXPERIMENTS: Additional experiments examine the relationships between circuits and bulbs, the rules in which currents behave within a variety of circuit configurations, and what leads to short circuiting
